Thanks again for your fantastic ski teaching. It was my first time skiing ever and I was very doubtfull if skiing would become \"my\" sport. Now, also thanks to your professional, patient and sympathic teaching I will for sure continue with this activity! Also knowing that I have still a lot to learn:-)

Just a quick email to let you know just how much difference your 2 hour lesson made to my boarding. I had, without a doubt, the best week I've ever had, tackled red runs with real confidence. Boarded though white out conditions and realised that powder is the best reason to be on a board!

Well I am back at work in grey old England. Very sad to be sitting at a desk all day! You are very lucky to be out in the mountains and the fresh air.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Seb, who was an amazing teacher - patient, kind and really helped me improve. As a nervous skier, with a bad experience with ESF lessons before, he made a huge difference. Before I didn't like the idea of skiing, but now I can say ' I skiied down the mountain and smiled '. I now look forward to the next time I can come skiing. If we come to Alpe d'Huez again, I will definitely be booking lessons with you again.

Just a quick note to say thank you very much for the time you spent with various of our group in Alpe D'Huez this week.
I found you, the team and the shop all to be refreshingly approachable and service focused for all our interaction from initial email responses to sorting out equipment and the teaching.
I enjoyed the telemarking lesson (although had difficulty walking for a day!) and look forward to taking it up again soon on the non powder days.
Max and I very much appreciated you showing us some off piste on one of the worst of days for weather. And I hear that Sara definitely enjoyed the lesson with Seb and would have had more lessons with him if we had had the time / she had met you earlier.
All in all a fantastic performance and the proof that small ski schools with the personal touch are the best. I would not fail to recommend you to other visitors hoping to make the most of ADH.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to both of you. On our last Saturday Mark and I spent the afternoon skiing with Olivia and Jack – taking them down the blue run just down from The Grange pizzeria by the cable car!!! They were both brilliant and loved every minute of it and that is down to your great tuition, so thank you both so much.

Seb, I thought I had so many faults that having a lesson or two wasn’t going to be much fun – it wasn’t at all, it was great. You taught me loads and opened my eyes up to how to tackle the mountain – I want to perfect short turns. Just super.

If we come back next year, and I hope we do I will definitely be booking you guys!

We all progressed way further than we thought we would, and we're already eagerly planning a trip for next year! We have returned from our great holiday in ( the very friendly) Alpe D'Huez and I want you to know how highly we thought of your organisation and tuition. You were very informative and helpful from the start whilst we were trying to organise the different age groups / abilities of our children.
We have experienced tuition in four different French ski resorts over the last four years and you are undoubtedly the best we have had so far. People booking ski holidays tend to book with the 'names' of ski schools that they recognise but Stance Snow is great and way ahead of others we have experienced to date. You were aware of our concerns about the children and their abilities, you gave excellent feedback and helped us out in practical ways too.
We would thoroughly recommend you to others and hope our paths cross again in the future.

That was the final day of skiing! We went up onto the Glacier and did some of the blues... Although l must say they were pretty steep at the start. Managed to remember most of what you had taught me and made it successfully down the mountain with great confidence.
The lessons were great and you provided superb instruction. I'll definitely recommend Stance Snow to friends/colleagues. Thanks again Seb! All the best with the ski + Graphic Design.

We both had an amazing week which was in no small part due to you and your ability to help us both when we struggled at various points during the week. Another great week's skiing tutition from you - thank you. The girls have come home loving skiing and with Oli's teaching skills and patience with them they have all improved immensely. The fact that they were grumbling we were too slow in the snow park proves that. They had no fear doing jumps at all and we literally had to go full pelt to keep up with them on the blue and green runs. I would also like to say a special thank you to Oli for helping me regain my confidence after my spectacular wipe out in the middle of the week, I really didn\'t think I would get down a slope again and you proved I could.

I would recommend these guy's to anyone wishing to learn or improve their skiing, they are the best! They are fantastic with young children and want them to enjoy their lessons which is so important.

I write this after knowing this firm for three years.. I approached them after being recommended to them by a business associate. Oli is an amazing boarder . As a teacher he is patient but not a fool, tolerant but not negligent, clear but not fussy, knowledgeable but not boring and I trust him with by most treasured asset, my son Seve to whom is just 7, yes just seven.
He has taught seve to black run level. He makes you want to see him , his company is chilled and enchanting, his ability is mind blowing and I've completed most of the black , glacier ,red runs with him with la Fare being my fav and with my son and sincerely, everyone knows him and respects him . A god, well certainly if you love this sport.. Fun , professional and wise unlike some on the mountains these guys are the cooooool ones to be with.

Ski & Snowboard : 30th January to 04th February 11

Group of 10 work colleagues traveled to Alpe d'Huez on 29/01/11. The runs were good despite the last dump being over two weeks earlier but they did deteriorate late in the week. The best runs, when conditions got icy, were towards Villard Reculas and Montfrais.
We stayed at Royal Ours Spa Hotel Blanc in the centre of the resort. Excellent hotel with courtesy coach, friendly staff, clean rooms, good food and spa area.
The gem of out trip, with six wanting ski/board instruction, was finding Oli and Seb c/o Stance-Snow based at Alpe Sports. Oli and Seb without doubt gave everyone confidence and improvement beyond expectation.
The shop provided great quality ski and board hire with care on getting you the right equipment. Helmet hire and lockers were included and with the shop being situated at the base of the main DMC lift area, we felt we had found the best hire facility in town.
Would recommend the resort, hotel, instructors and hire without hesitation.

I think Thomas is already better than me - and certainly faster - I will never be able to keep up! Sadly we will have to wait another year before we ski again - may be in Alpe d'huez but if not, I'm sure we will be back at some point in the future.

I thought I would email to say thank you for your help last week. You quickly realised that I didn't (unlike my husband) want to go down reds and blacks. Your patience and gentle encouragement were just what I needed. Just a quick note to say thanks again to Seb for all his patience with me last week. The lessons really did help, having one day off between each lesson was really good, as it meant that had time to try to put into practice what I had been taught. By the end of the week I really did feel as I though I'd improved, and felt more confident and most of my turns were better - maybe one day I'll get a bit faster too! Seb said I was a challenge - and we spent most of the time trying to get me to do a heel to toe turn properly - but that was great as I really needed the extra time to try to reverse a bad habit and turn properly.

I have just returned from a fantastic weeks skiing in Alpe D’Huez with my 2 sons (aged 11 and 9) who were on their 2nd week on skis and can highly recommend Stance who were excellent value for money. We had 2 brilliant 3 hour sessions with Oli who is an outstanding instructor – hugely knowledgeable, very patient, great fun and genuinely a fluent English speaker. All our skiing improved immeasurably and we tackled the Sarenne in a blizzard the day after our last session with confidence.

I have been proudly telling anyone who is prepared to listen that I have just learnt to ski at the tender age of 51! Basically, this is entirely down to your gentle tuition and painless drawing out from me the necessary skills to achieve a controlled turn. I had plenty to practice after 4 hours with you, and on the last day our group took me up to stage 2 of the DMC and I came down the blue run! Harry did it too.

I had a wonderful time in Alpe d'Huez, and look forward to returning one day. I cannot recommend your teaching style more highly; accurate direction and patient encouragement.

Hello Seb,
I just wanted to send a mail to thank you so much for the lessons I had with you last month! They were a great start to my holiday and gave me an incredible boost in confidence! By the end of the week I was able to go down a full green run from the Gondola (and I only fell once at the bottom of the slope!) so was very pleased with the progress I managed to make in just six days.

The bruises have finally started to fade and I’m already looking forward to boarding again next year!
